オーストリア・ウィーン生まれ 1937年オーストリアのファルケンシュタインで生まれ、8歳の年に第2次世界大戦が終りました。その後、ウィーン美術学校に学びました。彼の初期作品には幼児時代の戦争体験が現れたり、ギザギザの幾何学的な都市景観が現れています。50年代後半にウィーンに移り住み、エルンスト・フックス等と出会いました。58年ヒューガー・メダルとマイスターシュール賞を受賞、さらに翌年フックスが主宰するが画廊で最初の個展も開いています。その後多くの受賞を重ねました。仮面や人物の顔だけを拡大し、それと無関係なものを並置させて異様な風景を現わす等、シュールな作風の幻想派の影響がみられます。現在、彼の作品はウィーンのストラバグ美術館などで展示・収集されています。 Born in Vienna, Austria Born in Falkenstein, Austria in 1937, the year he was eight years old, World War II ended. He then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He moved to Vienna in the late 1950s, where he met Ernst Fuchs and others. The following year, he had his first solo exhibition at Fuchs's gallery. The following year, he had his first solo exhibition at Fuchs's gallery. His work shows the influence of the surrealist school of fantasy, in which he enlarged masks and human faces and juxtaposed them with unrelated objects to create bizarre landscapes.
